Flitch Lamps

The flitch lamps are my latest work.Inspired by the life of a tree, its character developed through years of weathering the elements tells a story of place.

To me, the Flitch (outside edge/sapwood usually wasted to get to the heart wood) tells the best story. Being sustainable, in terms of the environment and my impact, is central to my design practice. Often, I question why am I making this, is it relevant and what is its impact? I am using small sections of timber, offcuts that might be unusable for most. Controllable and adjustable LED lighting 2000 lumens of light with 2700K light temperature, allows the user to adjust the intensity of light and reduce power consumption, useful for ambient or task lighting. Available with US, EU and UK plugs on request. Table and floor standing versions are available. Each piece unique and handmade. heights vary from 700-1500mm.
